Your front desk juggles multiple systems throughout the day. The practice management system shows appointments. Smile Advantage manages memberships. Connecting the two has meant switching between screens, searching for patients, and manually checking membership status.
Today’s Appointments brings your schedule directly into Smile Advantage, showing real-time appointment data alongside membership information in one unified view.
Your Day at a Glance
Open the Today’s Appointments panel and immediately see everyone scheduled for the day. Appointments are organized by time period (Morning, Afternoon, Evening), so you can quickly scan what’s coming up.
Real-Time Data
The panel pulls live appointment data from your Practice Management System. When the schedule changes in your PMS, the changes appear in Smile Advantage. No manual sync, no stale data.
Current Time Indicator
A visual marker shows where you are in the day. When you open the panel, it automatically scrolls to the current time position so you see immediately relevant appointments first.
Search and Filter
Looking for a specific patient? Search by name to find them instantly without scrolling through the full schedule.
Membership Status at Every Appointment
The real power comes from seeing membership information alongside appointments. For each scheduled patient, you’ll see:
Linked members: Patients already connected to a Smile Advantage member record show their membership status: active, expired, or inactive.
Unlinked patients: Patients without a member connection are clearly identified, making it easy to spot enrollment opportunities.
Visual indicators: Status badges provide instant recognition so you don’t have to click into details to understand a patient’s membership situation.
One-Click Patient Linking
When you identify a patient who should be connected to a member record, linking takes one click. No more switching to the member screen, searching for the patient, and manually creating the connection.
Link Existing Members
If the patient already has a membership, click to link them to their PMS patient record. This connection enables:
- Automatic transaction posting to their PMS ledger
- Unified patient/member identity
- Streamlined check-in workflows
Create New Members
For patients who should join your membership program, start the enrollment process directly from the appointment view. Patient information pre-fills from the PMS record, reducing data entry.
Statistics Summary
The panel header shows aggregate statistics for the day:
- Total patients scheduled: Your complete appointment count
- Active memberships: Patients with current membership status
- Expired memberships: Re-engagement opportunities
These numbers help you gauge the day’s potential for membership conversations and renewal reminders.
Designed for Front Desk Efficiency
The appointments panel is built for the realities of a busy front desk:
Quick Access
Open the panel from the main navigation. It loads quickly even with full schedules.
Non-Disruptive
The panel slides in without navigating away from your current work. Check an upcoming appointment, then return to what you were doing.
Past Appointment Visibility
Morning appointments don’t disappear after they’ve passed. You can scroll back to see earlier patients if needed, with subtle visual distinction for past times.
Requirements
Today’s Appointments requires PMS integration to be configured for your office. The feature works with supported Practice Management Systems that expose appointment data through our integration layer.
If you’re not sure whether your PMS is supported, contact our team. We’re continually adding integrations.
The Connected Practice
Today’s Appointments represents our vision for connected practice management: relevant information from multiple systems surfaced where you need it, when you need it.
Your front desk shouldn’t have to be experts in navigating multiple software platforms. They should have the information they need to check patients in, identify membership opportunities, and provide great service, all from one screen.
