Important Update for DMD Clients Following the Merger with Smile Advantage
As part of the merger between DMD and Smile Advantage, all DMD clients are required to complete a new End-User License Agreement (EULA) directly with Smile Advantage. This is necessary to ensure that we remain compliant with legal contracts, protect your data, and maintain the highest standards of security on our platform.
To continue receiving the exclusive 30% discount Smile Advantage is offering to DMD offices, a 12-month agreement will be required.

Smile Advantage provides secure, Level 1 PCI-compliant payment processing integrated directly with our platform for a seamless payment experience. Since our gateway is uniquely designed for Smile Advantage software, you’ll need to set up a new payment processing account with us to optimize payment processing and automate membership collections.
Currently, your credit card tokens are stored with Stripe through DMD. As part of the transition, we’ll securely migrate them to Smile Advantage’s gateway, ensuring a smooth process.
Our team will pre-fill most of your application, requiring only minor updates before submission. Payments are securely processed, with payouts deposited directly into your bank account within 24–48 hours. Smile Advantage does not retain your membership fees. The standard processing rate is 2.85% + $0.30 per transaction.
Dr. Phelps from DMD and Shelly Otte from Smile Advantage will provide you with updates and information about the timeline during the upgrade transition. You may also receive communications from other members of the Smile Advantage team throughout this process, who will assist you in upgrading your membership to the new dashboard.
Depending on your current pricing structure with DMD, your rate will either stay the same or potentially be reduced. DMD and Smile Advantage have agreed to honor a flat monthly fee of $199/mo for all DMD clients for Smile Advantage's "CORE" package. This is a 30% discount on Smile Advantage's current pricing package. There are no fees per patient, as some other membership companies charge. Smile Advantage charges a fixed monthly fee, which is irrelevant to how many members/patients you have.
The team at Smile Advantage is in the process of securely migrating all of your membership data, plan prices, and even secured credit cards into Smile Advantage's PCI compliant payment gateway. Once you log into Smile Advantage's dashboard, you will find all of your existing memberships and payment methods, renewal dates and plan prices, just as they are currently in DMD's platform
Smile Advantage has several new features and additional features beyond what you currently have with DMD. You should not lose any previous functionality that you've had. This is truly an upgraded experience giving you not only new features but much easier to use features than you currently have with the DMD platform.
Dr. Phelps and Dr. Byrnes have both accepted positions on Smile Advantage's advisory board and intend to remain involved with current and future clients. Dr. Phelps will continue to advise, consult, speak, and coach on dental memberships and help the Smile Advantage team further evolve into the leading membership management platform.
